Ilgın Salman was born in Ankara in 1974. She began playing the piano at the age of five with Prof. Ayşe Savaşır and resumed her studies about music until her graduationfrom T.E.D. Ankara College in 1991. As Salman continued pursuing her piano and music studies with pianist Mehmet Okonşar she as well completed her higher education in economics from Hacettepe University in 1996.
In 1997, after being accepted by Associate Professor Daniela Ballek, who is a pupil of famous concert pianist Claudio Arrau, Salman moved to Germany to continue her further studies with Ms. Ballek. During this period, she had the chance to learn and implement the piano technique and teachings of Claudio Arrau.
In 2011 she was accepted to master degree program at the Conservatory of Başkent University, in Ankara. She acquired her piano master degree in 2013 from the class of Associate Professor Kamerhan Turan.
She also attended masterclasess of idil Biret and Ayşegül Sarıca.
Besides giving piano lessons, she also performed many solo and chamber music concerts.
In 2013, she established Mozarthaus in Ankara with pianist Koray Okyay.
